Oyebola Olubunmi – HNMC/18/031

Fast rising Nollywood actor, Abayomi Alvin says, there’s no space to be taken in the movie industry.

In an interview with ignite news about being known for a particular role, Abayomi said, “There’s no even space to be taken, because at the end of the day, we are all growing and you can’t play certain roles forever.

” when I started MTV Shuga, I played a teenager in secondary school, Isoken,l played somebody’s brother, Moms at War,I played a teenager in secondary school; I can’t keep playing a teenager role for life.

“I feel as an actor, you should be able to select roles that are challenging, you should be able to be in diverse roles. As an actor, I can’t be stereotyped”.

Speaking on new generation of actors without formal acting education, the young actor said, “The thing about art is that, as much as it can be a talent, it can also be a skill; a talent as in, it can be inborn and it can also be a skill one can learn. It’s always nice if it’s a combination of both.

“If it’s a talent, you already know the basics, but you need to, at some point in life, do a crash course or full time course, go for workshops…whatever you need to brush yourself up, because everything has technique”.

When asked what movie role he would like to take on next, he said,

“I’ve never played an ‘Agbero’ (street urchin)before. I wanna play like a proper street boy…roles that make me someone else”.

Community Tree Recovery

By: Amisu Damilola Christabel

In 2018, Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) disclosed that the country has lost 96 percent of its forest due to deforestation, and that the country currently only has four per cent of its original forest cover.

With this, the impact of the global carbon cycle will and has been increased in the country. Trees help store carbon and release oxygen into the air for human consumption but when they die, they release the stored carbon in great quantity in the air. This then suppresses the quantity of oxygen in the atmosphere

Taken this to consideration, the Lagos state and Cross-Rivers state embarked on Street Tree Planting across the states which will in a bit restore the lost oxygen across the cities; thereby, preventing the country from the fury of global warming and climate change.

Over time, Lagos State government, which has planted over 7.5m trees in 11 years, and private bodies have taken street tree planting across the states in mitigating the effects of urbanization on the environment particularly in the area of climate change. Also, the state in recent time extended the benevolence to hinterland, car parks, and even to the rural parts of the state.

However, the necessity of street tree planting sensitization and awareness around Lagos is to sustain the greening policy of the State Government, noting that it has become crucial to continuously reawaken the consciousness of the people to plant trees and combat the negative effects of climate change in their community. As stated by the former governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Raji Fashola, the benefit of community tree planting cannot be exchanged for anything.

BALENCIAGA CRAZE

CHUKWU CHRISTIAN. Hnmc/18/059

There is a new revolution in town recruiting armies of fashionistas, young people in their colored tops and pants littered over our streets as if they were in a rescue mission to rid the streets of savages and people who are rebellious to the new god of BALENCIAGA.

The first time i came in contact with this god was when i saw a shop ridden with green, lemon and pink shiny vibrant costumes that could blindfold your eyes as if you are looking directly at the sun. lemon was the lead color, the greater god amongst the others, sweeping from the shop to our streets and our parties, our parks and places of worship.

This trend seldom appreciated by every, had its impact in 2019. It became the talk of the town, even some music artiste had to infuse the word BALENCIAGA in their record, it was used at events by comedians and MC’s at occassions, even the pronounciation of the word strikes a string of humour inwards.

Do you have a balenciaga costume?this clothing line is currently amongst top brands in the world, it is not a fake brand, it actually has it authentic and original wears, you want to get a good balenciaga for as low as 10000 naira, this is for real.
Over the years, our brothers in the east has led the front burner of piracy, as we see them from generation to generation replicate designer clothes to fit the market demand.

The balenciaga brand has not been an exception, infact its craze and paparazzi is enormous, maybe for the bright color and our Opay guys help to advertise the brand their lemon workclothes following the train.
For ‘fun of the decade’ i would pick this balenciaga revolution and confess that it played a flavoury role to spice the year.
